5 Second Sex

The cultural authorities of Vietnam are now considering a new rule forcing cinema sex scenes to last at its longest five seconds. The proposal was announced on a meeting in Hanoi last Friday by Ngo Phuong Lan, head of Vietnam’s national movie bureau.
Vietnam has a long history of extreme cinema censorship, especially when it comes to sex, and it all came to an end with the release of last year’s Fifty Shades of Grey, in which all sex – a whooping twenty minutes of its runtime – had been removed. It is still not clear, however, what exactly counts as sex – will they start removing any making out or petting that’s beyond five seconds, or is it just full on penetration?
