The TV award in the Film category went to F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi Sao Paulo for Leica’s “100”, a retrospective film showcasing the camera brand’s history as they’re celebrating one hundred years. President of the jury Tor Myhren referred to the choice as a “no brainer”, arguing for the spot’s value as a “nearly perfect piece of filmmaking and unique visual storytelling”.
The non-TV award went to The Martin Agency for Geico’s ad “Unskippable: Family”. According to Myhren, “This is a deceptively simple piece of communication, which breaks every single rule of filmmaking. It’s such an innovative way of using film in such an unsexy area.”
The main Film Craft award was claimed by adam&eveDDB for John Lewis’ “Monty’s Christmas” in an unanimous vote. It also received a Gold Lion, as did Sport England’s This Girl Can, Leica’s 100, Honda’s The Other Side, Audi’s Birth, Conservation International’s The Ocean, Atlantic Group’s 37 Days, Samsung’s Every Day Is Day One, Diageo’s Piano, Mix Brazil’s Everyone Is Gay and Instituto Igarape’s War On Drugo.
