English-speaking Segment Producer (Producer-Director)

English-speaking Segment Producer (Producer-Director)

EF is looking for an English-speaking Segment Producer (Producer-Director) for an Online Travel Video Series produced for YouTube. The Segment Producer works at EF's Stockholm office where she/he personally researches and scripts the episodes - and then travels abroad to the locations to produce and direct the video episodes together with a photographer/cameraman and the presenter.

The Project
EF produces a weekly video series (vlog) on YouTube about traveling and languages, targeting international viewers 18-25 years old. The episodes are filmed in different cities around the world, where EF has language schools. The aim of the videos is to inspire young people to travel abroad to learn a new language and explore a new country. Some vocabulary words are also included in the backgrounds, to allow viewers to pick up some vocabulary (mostly English vocabulary). The videos are in English and are subtitled in several languages.

During summer 2017 EF wants to film 30 new episodes in 5 different cities around the world. Typically 1-2 five-minute episodes are filmed per day. The segment producer's job is to research, script (including the vocabulary words) and plan the shoots, and then to travel abroad to produce and direct the shoots on location. Preproduction takes place at EF's office in Strandvägen in Stockholm. In total the project - including preproduction and production - will be around 3 months of full-time work starting at the end of April (to be discussed). The Segment Producer's involvement in post-production can also be discussed.

- Excellent script-writing skills (in English).
- Native-level English (or several years living in an English-speaking country). Any extra languages are a plus. Swedish is not required.
- Experience as a Producer-Director, Segment Producer or Field Reporter for TV or Web TV. Must be able to both direct and produce.
- A keen interest in culture and great research skills.
- Travel experience
- Great attention to detail, to ensure all shots are covered and to maintain the quality of the English dialogue.
- Flexibility
- People skills
- Work permit to work in Sweden, and a passport enabling international travel
