Punk London festival celebrates the 40th anniversary of the punk movement reaching British public consciousness. The festival is a year long series of events across London, celebrating different shapes and forms of punk culture, with different events and exhibitions celebrating both the music itself and the visual culture of punk.
The many exhibitions and events of the festival takes places at the Barbican, BFI Southbank, the British Library, the Design Museum and the Museum of London, as well as a number of other places. Smaller events are present throughout the capital, including venues where punk originated or places where it is assumed that the originators of punk would have been more comfortable, including more typical anti-establishment venues. This includes the ICA and the Print Space Gallery.
